Transport to Brașov

By plane
The nearest airports for the international traffic are the International Airport Otopeni Bucharest (168 km/ 105 mi away from Brașov) and the one in Sibiu (142 km/ 89 mi away from Brașov). If you choose this method, please combine it with Transport by train or Transport by car below.

By train
Getting to Brașov is very easy, due to the fact that it is a major Romanian railway hub. Between Bucharest, the capital, and Brașov there are many trains daily, almost one every hour, and there are also frequent trains from other Romanian cities as well as a daily connection to Budapest, Hungary (via Oradea) and a EuroNight (fast night train) connection to Budapest via Arad. Also due to its affordability and comfort, train is the best way of reaching Brașov. It usually takes between 2 h 30 min by IC (InterCity) and 2 h 50 min by IR (InterRegio).

By car
This is one of the most popular ways of reaching Brașov, due to its very good road connections. Road E60 will be the main road to use in and out or Brașov, because this European Road links the city to Bucharest in the south, as well as Cluj-Napoca, Oradea and Budapest, Hungary in the west. Road E68 will take you to Sibiu and further onwards to Arad and Timișoara. Road E574 takes you into the north, to the Moldavia region and the Painted Monasteries and Iași. All roads are marked in accordance with the international regulations. Driving is on the right side of the road and overtaking on the left. Driving under the influence of alcohol is forbidden. Speed limits are 50 kph (30 mph) in built-up areas and up to 100 kph (60 mph) on express roads.
